Enough, time to change

I have a new 2018 Sport 22 with a JVC model KD-AV41BT sound system. Sad to say this thing must go. Any recommendations for a replacement for a system the will do all the things this should have done, mainly to be able to play the TV audio through the house speakers? The TV with the volume turned up as high as possible is just adequate, and when the air is on, can't be heard at all.
Thanks,

Welcome Aboard!! 👍

If or when we need the TV sound we bring the companions.
"BREAKING NEWS">>> we rarely bring the TV...thats the one thing we try to get away from.🤣
We use the Bose Wave for tunes.
Disclaimer...we have no whippersnapper's.🤪

I tried to use the built in bluetooth in my tv and replacement stereo. While it worked, the delay was excessive and I could not get the sound and picture synchronized. I presume the problem was in the stereo as the TV should work with bluetooth headphones. Next I’m going to try a transmitter receiver pair or a separate receiver I can plug into the aux port on my stereo.

I just installed a
Kenwood KDC-X702 in my Airstream. My TV sounds great through it. It also has blue tooth and everything else you can imagine. Sounds incredible.

Hi I pulled up the specs for this radio and I do not see and DVD drive? Am I missing it? I have a 2018 AS Sport FB and the TV sound is terrible and no usable if the AC is turned on. I can't seem to find a headphone jack on my TV not sure if I'm missing it or there just isn't one. Major flaw on AS part with this set up.

Thanks,
On my 2013 FC with a Sony receiver I had to set the receiver to CD2. Are you sure your receiver doesn't have some odd setting also?

Our 2016 28 foot international serenity came equipped with the sound system tied into the DVD and Tele. I "assumed" the same year and later setups would be similar. Confusing.

We went for 5 years with low sound from the television until, thanks to this Forum, I was informed of the CD2 selection on the Sony system....voila, we now hear the television through the speakers!!

Hi

I don't think we have ever turned the sound system on in our trailer. When we watch the TV, the internal speakers are plenty good enough. It's just the weather or some random YouTube video if the TV is on at all ....

We use the TV's optical audio output and go to a small amplifier. The amplifier drives our two sets of headphones. Nice volume, easy to understand and we don't hear the air conditioner. An added advantage is that we don't worry about disturbing our neighbors.

I have 28’ International and just put it on AUX. Plenty of sound. Could be just where the speakers are located which are right above where we sit on the couch. Where are your speakers located?

Thanks,
Get in to your menus on the stereo. There is likely a TV input there, but it won't say so. It'll be an AUX input, or even a secondary sub-input in the CD input. Look at the back of your tv. Are there two RCA cables in the "Audio Out" positions? If so, those go to the stereo, and you can play the TV sound through it. Just have to find the right setting.

There are many options. I called Airstream about this (mine is older) and was advised to consider separating the systems. I ended up going with a sound bar and woofer for the TV. I have a bluetooth device system but it is just as easy to use the sound bar now.

You are right. This was probably bad advice for you. I bought a Supersonic TV with a built in DVD player so I could choose a better stereo. I wasn't thinking when I suggested this. It plays TV sound great but it won't play DVDs.

We love this cheap $70 sound bar but there are hundreds out there. We just pull the audio from the optical connection on the TV.

It sounds much better than it has any right to at that price plus the sound is coming from the right place, not over our heads.

Thanks,
I replaced the Sony receiver in our 2011 FC with an LG Blu-ray DVD deck, installed an hdmi cable to the screen, rand removed the cheesy speakers. I then installed a Bose 24” sound bar that hangs below the Samsung screen. It’s all a bit complex, but the end result is excellent audio, high quality video, and the ability to play music off our smart phones using Bluetooth capability of the Bose. I found it worth the effort.

Wow! Same here...we bought Rocinante nearly 5 years ago and have used her heavily ever since. We had absolutely no idea about this. 🤣

Thanks!

Went through all the options on the JVC including AUX, nothing there. I would suspect on the Sport model, they choose a very basic radio. I'm surprised it does have FM. I'm really disappointed with AS on this. I've looked on the back of the TV and it does have a HDMI cable on it that goes into the wall to somewhere. I'll pull the radio out and see if anything is going into the inputs. The AS manual gives not clue on what is going on.
