Anyone hooked up a DVR in their airstream for over the air recording?

What DVR are you planning to use?

I have or rather our adult son did in ours using Direct TV or over air. He used a stand along Hard Drive with enough memory to store about 300 + movies an or TV shows, something like a terabyte?

I can find out how he did it if you don't find someone else. All I do is turn it on and press record on the remote and then playback when we want to watch something recorded.

TIVO offers a DVR that you can hook up over the air. I think the subscription is just for the guide features.

Here's a review at cnet.com. Looks like the biggest drawback is that you can't tell it to record only the 'new' shows in a series. (Channelmaster). The good news is that you don't have to pay a subscription fee.

Best DVRs of 2015 - CNET

We copy our DVDs to a hard drive and use a media player to play them. The 3tb (3 terabyte) hard drive holds over 300 movies so we've always got something to watch if OTA TV has nothing on.
