Common ground or floating

Hello-never posted before- I hope I am posting in the correct place. I have a 1984 Excella and I am trying to replace the Sony AM/FM cassette with an AM/FM cd player. Can someone tell me if this model Airstream uses a "floating" ground or "common" ground speaker system. Thanks- Mike

ground

When I installed a GM type car stereo in my old Tradewind I grounded to the frame/skin. I seems to work fine. I even used the old antenna.

The reason I'm asking is this : I tried to replace the am/fm cassette player which had four speaker wires with one speaker ground wire with a newer am/fm cd player with eight speaker wires (4 positive and 4 negative?) and the only way it would work was with the lights off in the trailer. With the lights on the sound coming from the cd player was very distorted.

The 12 volt minus, is a common ground.

The speakers wires are floating.
