CD and Motorola 8-Track Stereo

The Motorola 8-Track Stereo in our "78" works great and I really do not want to remove it. Has anyone wired a CD player into this stereo system. Can it be done?...Or have others installed a stand alone CD/Stereo unit? Any thoughts?

Does the Motorola have FM tuner? You can buy one of these fm transmitters:

I have the above model and it transmits from the rear of the trailer to the car stereo in the front. Works with portable CD players and aux/headphone output of mp3 players.
