Cable TV and a 1999 Excella
We have never hooked to cable tv since we bought our Excella 5 years ago. Is there a place externally to hook it to a coax cable?

Hi
Based on how many I see with cables running through windows or out storage doors .... it didn't come with a nice easy cable hookup.

There is a strange looking long bolt in the electric cord storage area but it does not looks like a hookup for a coaxial cable. Not sure what it is.

Looking at the schematic and it appears to be city cable hookup ext. Maybe the connection was changed for satellite. The bolt that holds it on looks newer than the hookup.

Still more to learn..we have 3 coaxial cables in the trailer not including the antennae one. I tried the 2 that reach the tv with tv on cable setting..no deal so I guess next is a short cable and connector so I can try the last one. I am learning..guess that is good.

Actually, mine never worked. The TV works fine on antenna in either end of the trailer. I never could get mine to work on with cable hooked to the jack at the electrical cord. (Yes, booster was off) I messed with it a lot and figured I had a break in the coax somewhere not far from the hookup. I said the heck with it and drilled a hole in the floor in the living room cabinet right above the city water compartment. I put a short piece of cable in and hook up directly.

If I hook the tv to antennae then when do I hook the cable back up? Guess I need step by step. We unhooked the antennae with the light off then hooked up the cable then scanned the tv channels with tv on cable setting.

That Should be it. It's not that hard unless there is a problem. On my parents 93 the cable was cut between the body and frame.
Also if the signal is weak the cable may not work with the older non-digital wiring installed in Airstreams built before a certain year.

Wavelength..thank you..my brain was slow to process. I was disconnecting the antennae and using these other cables inside which are probably for a satellite. So today I changed the setting on tv back and did what you said. Yes, it works..thank you again.
