Black TV shelf

Our trailer has two black steel fold-up television shelves.

I'd like to permanently close them and stabilize them in a way that they would support a bracket and LCD tv.

Does anyone have any experience screwing or otherwise affixing these shelves in the "up" position? The white plastic tab is not enough!

Did you get a solution to this? Do you have any pics of the area? What is installed in mine is a swing arm for the portable TV, by the PO. He attached it through the closet and bolted it through a 2x4 to make it sturdy. It is well hidden and does not draw attention. I can post a pic if you'd like to see how mine is installed?

Not solved yet, won't be until spring. I have an idea involving a strip of steel. I'd love to see a pic of your install if it's not too inconvenient for you.

Now, out to plow the snow...

I'll get a photo to you as soon as I dig out. Over a foot here and still coming down!
Here is one the PO took, still owe you the inside pic to see how it is mounted.

TV Shelf

As promised, here is the pics of the brackets that hold the TV to the wall. It is bolted through with 2 2"x4"s for added bracing. It is very stable.
