2010 stock Sony - RCA audio - how to use?

I have a 2010 25FB Flying cloud - with stock Sony player.
In the top cabinet there is on the side wall -- two RCA audio in jacks as well as what looks to be typical car cigarette lighter (see picture). I plugged my IPOD into the RCA jacks (using 3MM to RCA adapter) - but no sound. Assume i have to somehow configure the sony player to use the rear Aux input -- but can not figure out how to configure it, and couldn't find it in the manual. Currently hitting the mode switch - only shows one aux in (which works for an input into the aux input in the front of the unit), and then toggles thru TV, CDC, Tuner.

I have the same unit. I never tried using the RCA input jacks, but what I did do was go to Amazon and found a Bluetooth receiver that uses a cigarette lighter for power, and it also has the 3.5mm mini-stereo jack. Once paired with your iPod or iPad, plug the mini jack into the bottom right of the Sony head-end, and change the "source" on it to "aux input". Voila'. You can now freely walk around your campsite and control your music. Sorry, I don't have the link to the unit I bought, but if you need it, send me a PM and I will get it for you. I think it was under 20 bones, and works nicely.

Thanks -- very good idea! I will do the same. I do have an IPOD without bluetooth that i was planning on using for music, but this does provide a nicer remote option.

although i am still wondering about what the factory installed RCA jacks in the cabinet are for and how to activate them. More curiosity at this point in light of the Bluetooth solution.

I'd say find the model number of the radio and get the manuals (operation and installation) from Sony. I wouldn't be surprised if the RCA "inputs" on the rear panel are really preamp outputs. Could be the radio changed over time and nobody at AS bothered to check

I know I'm late on this, but if you haven't figured it out yet, switch to CDC 2.

Set your Sony stereo to "Aux" and you should be able to plug your iPod directly into it with a cord running out of the iPod's headphone jack directly into the "Aux" input on the stereo. No Bluetooth connection needed. You just need a short cord with a 3.5mm plug on both ends. Very simple. Works great for us. I have a 160gb iPod with my entire (extensive) music collection on it. With this setup, I have access to anything in my library while we're on the road. When we're driving, I can also plug the iPod directly into the stereo on my F150 using the same connector cable.
