1969 31' Sovereign International TV/ANTENNA

Hello, first time poster here. I have a 69 Sovereign International and it has a rooftop TV antenna. I believe it's called the Skyliner from my research online tonight. It currently has the 300ohm twin lead wire going from the wing nuts and then to the wall jack which is shared with a 12v cig lighter jack. My one question is, is this antenna amplified? I'm thinking of replacing the old wire with coax by putting a balun adapter on the wing nuts to convert to coax but I am afraid to peel away the caulk in the roof where the wire goes in. I don't want to screw anything up and have a leak. Is it worth changing to coax and is the easiest way to get it in the coach is to tie the coax to the existing old wire and pull through the same path, or could it be stapled in the wall somewhere? If you guys think it's worth just keeping the old wire, I could make an adapter to go from the two prong wall plate to coax, unless you guys know of a premade adapter. This trailer is parked on our property in the pocono mountains (Hawley, PA) and is probably 40 miles or so from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA towers. A modern smaller style antenna mounted about 5ft off the ground outside is only giving me 5 channels but our 1985 Pace Arrow RV with a newer Winegard HD rooftop antenna on the same property is doing much better. Hoping the big Skyliner will help! Thanks all!
