It is indeed a furnace. Bottom ducted, no less, from the looks of it.
these can be dangerous, if the heat exchanger ribs are corrodet internally.
The one out of my 1971 expelled over one large cup of heavy rust flakes when Andy and I tested it. Have it looked at and serviced, maybe it's still good? A new one is over $ 500.00

Thank you! It's a goner I think. It looks pretty bad. Everything in this trailer is a goner! Even the oven; it's a Wedgewood, but it's just in awful shape.
