I hear ya Bob, always capacity for couple of bottles of something nice, Junipero gin for martinis, maybe some limoncella to sip under the stars. Martinis and pizza from the oven, grilled asparagus, goat cheese and caramelized onions, tastes even better camping!

Do these marine type units have a better way to light the oven pilot vs their RV cousins?

I cant speak for the others but the Force 10 on our boat has an AA battery powered igniter system that has survived 8 years of hard sailing (including a half dozen "wet" Gulf Stream crossings). It is one of the things we love about the stove/range. Unlike other brands we have had before this one simply works and works and works..... I keep thinking I should modify the dumb piezo on our Airstream with a similar system, hmmmmmm........

We love....

......having the stove/oven in our Classic.

But I will admit the oven gets used much more as a "bread box" than an oven.
I will defer to the DW here, "that looks like a really nice stove but it sure costs a lot."
She has her tools and I have mine and never the twain shall meet.

Unless it's a Rabbit.

Doh. You did get me. I get that too, more like "WHY does it cost so much?". I think the Seaward doesn't have the battery igniter, just a pezio like the lesser ones. I figure it's like the igniter on our BBQ, which is pretty simple and lasts. Is the oven lit with the same igniter?

I can't say for sure, but I seem to recall the DW lighting the Amana with a butane pencil.

Well, however it lights, we're looking forward to our next trip, hopefully with a new range.

Was wondering if you enjoy the the range...where did you purchase?
We went with a marine refrigerator...Isotherm..and are looking at a mariner range.
Thanks,
Janet

Hi, I found the best price at Sure Marine Service Sure Marine Service, Inc. | Propane Galley Ranges
and they were great to talk to on the phone. I got my range from someone within Seaward who was selling it and Sure Marine put me in touch with the guy. I get it on Thursday, and couldn't be more stoked. Two things I liked about it way over the Atwood, besides quality, was that the two burners are on the front, not the back, and that there are automatic gas shutoffs to the burners, not just the oven, so it's safer. Atwood was a nightmare to simply get pricing from.

Range update

I picked up my Seaward range yesterday and couldn't be more happy with the quality- I specify Miele for my residential project and am rather picky. I'll install it this weekend and see how it goes.

This is a picture of the range on our "other yacht"!
I am sure you will be happy with the new stove...
