Venting Refrigerator in Vintage Airstream

Purchasing a new Dometic refrigerator. Building a custom cabinet around the box but curious about how to vent properly. There is a hatch door behind the unit, but it is not vented. Is there a way to convert the hatch to a vented hatch door? We will likely vent the ceiling with a typical chimney style vent. Would appreciate any photos from anyone who has installed one.

It would help its drafting properties if you retained the original vent in the floor, and not added more in the access door.

Well...we've already replaced the floor, subfloor and insulation. Any other options?

A reefer scoop, as it's called, goes from the top of the reefer hot coil, to the reefer vent that's up on the roof.

Those have been in use for 50 years or more.

It's the only way to get the carbon monoxide out of the trailer.
