Venting!

Just a note

Today I had a problem with my 12 year old Fantastic Fan.
After taking it apart, I found the trouble to be the little gearbox.

I removed it, I also checked the vent cover lift motor, it checked out ok.

2 years ago, I called Fantastic Fan about ordering a new vent cover, mine developed a crack, I was fully prepared to pay for a new one, to my surprise they sent one over no charge!

Now this unit is 12 years old, when I called this time about ordering the gear box, I again fully expected to pay for the part.

To my surprise, they are not only sending the gearbox, they are also sending me a new lift motor, NO CHARGE.

Now I know a few of us are looking for roof vents, I myself thought about a Maxxi Fan for the front vent.

Now the other power vents look fine and all, BUT, if we do not support a company like Fantastic Fan, which bends over backwards to support its product and customers with free replacement parts after 12 years, we will get just what we deserve, China!

I've had the same delightful experience with Moen and Zip-Dee.

Yes, I've had a similar experience with them. Fantastic is a good description of their customer support as well as their product. I would buy to suppport that attitude.

Thanks for relating your experience, Michael. My dealings with Fantastic Fan has been the same. We had them install a reversing switch in Perry this summer. They sent two techs, and it was over in under twenty minutes, including a mini tutorial on how it works. They even offered to clean the topside of the screen while it was apart. Every time I start to consider a Maxxi for the rear vent, along comes a post like yours to reinforce the reasons I will stay with a product that I know is a good thing.

I have had two problems with Fantastic-Vent fan units. Both times the company has bent over backwards to get me going again, and one of those problems was my own fault (trying to repair a thermostat).

Not only does Fantastic Vent back up their products with the BEST support around, they also make the best fan I've ever seen. They are relatively quiet, totally ducted (hence efficient), three-speed, and mine have rain sensors that will close the lid when they get wet. All-around GREAT fans.

My experience with Fantastic Fan is a bit different than yours.

My trailer came with one and I added another one and then... Nothing they just keep working.

What we need is more loyal people like you to show the appreciation to manufacturers which go beyond the sale, and still remember to honor the post sale commitment to the consumer. Thank you, "Boatdoc"

Michael, I agree, We have bought 4 fans from them, 2 on our 76 Argsoy and 2 on the 79 and will continue to support them. If you go to Imlay City MI. to the factory they will install the fans no charge and give you a tour of the factory, and if you let them know you are coming you can stay the night in the parking lot and they will give you a power cord.

The frame around the screen was cracked at a screw hole. While at the WBCCI International in Salem in 2006 I saw that the "Airstream store had new screens for $11.00. I stopped by the Fantastic boot5h and they gave me one.

In Quartzsite last I was given a new lifting mechanism free as minw slipped in the closed position.
