To use or not to use: living in our Airstream

Hi!

We recently purchased a '74 Ambassador in very nice condition--95%+ original. We are the 3rd owners, and over the years the trailer has had little use as evidienced by the condition of the interior (all upholstery and even the carpet are orginal!!) and the appliances. My question is specifically about our Dometic refrigerator.
It works great on both gas and elec, and is in really excellent condition, no craks or any damage at all. What we're wondering about is if it is better to use the fridge while we're living in it (for about a year asw e build our house) or should we just get a $100 mini-fridge and use that instead?? if we do use the Dometic, better to run on gas or elec, or switch back and forth??

Thanks for your help!!

TR

we have a a/s that we use as an office and we run ours on electric year round. but if yours is not big enough, you can get a small apartment size to use as an overflow, like for canned drinks, etc.

Run it

Run it on electric/ There are no moving parts to wear and no flue to get dirty from electric use. Probably much better on it to use it than let it stand idle.

I ran the fridge in my Scamp day and night for the 6 years I owned the trailer. Still worked just like day 1.
