Road-Pro 1/12 qt slow cooker

Just want people to be careful. Tried the little 12V slow cooker for the first time and it melted the receptacle, the plug and the fuse did not blow. The only reason we have a trailer is because we stayed inside during the first use.
Pretty scary!!!

Hi, I just checked the reviews for this product at Amazon; Five people liked it, one person who doesn't own one thought it was stupid, and one person said it melted the first time they used it.

Ya' gotta love those unsolicited opinions. Reminds me of some forums I frequent.
Now, for the melted part-- when you replace the receptacle, make sure the power and ground connection is good. Either there was too much current draw for the wires, or there was a bad connection.

I am not a huge fan of high draw 12v appliances. I would much rather take the line loss hit and use an inverter and a 110v appliance. That is making the broad assumption that the inverter is properly installed.

I have found that most 12v powered appliances are poorly made and don't work as well as their 110v counterparts.
