New to a 1993 Excella Power Question

I just purchased a 1993 Excella 1000. I have no owner manual. I plugged in the power to 120v at the park lot. The microwave comes on but I have nothing else that comes live.

I'm assuming I have power to all outlets but not sure. Is there a switch somewhere that turns on power to the levels panel, lights and fridge? Is all of that run on 12v. I seem to be missing something and cannot find a switch.

Welcome to the community

You should have power to all outlets.

If I recall correctly, the 1993 does not have a switch for the converter that provides 12v power. It is possible that the converter is missing or inoperative, or disconnected. Also, there may be a 12v disconnect that affects the batteries as well. If you're unfamiliar with RV 12v systems it would be a good idea to have someone who has worked with them look over the wiring.

Welcome!

Check to see if the circuit breakers need to be reset. In my '99, the converter is on the same circuit as the bedroom outlets (not on the same circuit as the microwave). Check behind the goucho/couch, and see if the univolt/converter is located up there. It might be unplugged if wired similar to mine.

Like Jammer says, if you are unfamiliar, get someone to troubleshoot the system for you!

Have fun,

Philip

Thanks guys for the feedback. I found I have power to the micro wave, I also found a switch for the A/C. However when I switch that to the AC the AC still doesn't work. No power to the heater or fridge either at this point. The 12 volt stuff works. I found a switch behind the couch. Battery was mostly dead but had enough juice to tell that it works. I found only one battery hooked up and wrap around the positive lead to prevent contact with anything. I didn't find anything called univolt and it appears the converter is inside the breaker box in the back bedroom. But. Not certain but there is a fan on the switch box.

When I picked this up I was told it all worked. Lesson learned. Show me. Maybe there is a wire loose that resulted due to the collision that happens by prior owner.

Final Update 2/21/2014,

I have the A/C and fridge working now. The A/C power switch was real sticky and when I moved it back and forth on/off the contacts made connection and it statred working. The fidge is another story. It worked on house power but when I moved the trailer back to storage it stopped working again. Urgh.

But i had it working on 120v son I know it works. I plan on getting contact cleaner and clean all the electrical connections. The 12 volt system is working fine. I just needed to find it and learn the system. I charged the batteries and lifted the goucho/couch, and found the univolt/converter is located up there. Above it and directly behind the couch is a battery system on off switch.

All is now good and after a good cleaning of everything it should all work very well.
Thanks for your inputs. It really helped.

The fridge works on propane or 120 volt. When on propane it may also need 12 volt to work the control panel for the fridge.
