How's it work on gas ??

New to our camper ,we finally got our fridge to work in our 81 international on gas system ,who know the last time or if ever it's been ran on gas. Does it generally cool from the top down . Our freezer is getting cold, but not noticing a lot of cooling down in fridge Thanks in advance

The upper freezer cools first and then the lower section. Those old fridges can easily take 24 hours to cool down on gas. Mine cools much quicker on electric and then I switch to gas for on the road.
