Excella 500 Digital Clock

My friend has an 1977 Excella 500 and the built in digital clock has quit. He is pretty good with electronics and if we can come up with a schematic for the clock board he can probably fix it. Barring a schematic, a replacement for the clock would be welcome. The circuit board of the clock says it was made by the "Patten Corporation" and gives a part number of 500270. I Googled Patten Corporation and Patten Inc and Patten clock but didn't come up with any good hits. I searched these forums without finding the help that I needed.
Any help with where to look for a schematic or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.

Another thought:
You can order a clock mechanism that works on a AA battery from a number of web sites. Take out the 12v guts and put in one of these. You have to change the battery every couple of years, but the good thing is it runs even if the 12v system is down or the battery is dead. The works cost about 6 bucks. Or, go to wal-mart or similar store and find a cheap clock that works on battery. Strip it down to get the guts and do the same. I tried it and it works.

DayOff: I'm a new member, heck I'm a new AS owner. We bought our 77 Sovereign a couple of months back and I'm slowly gettin it a little more usable. It's the little things that get me. It just bugged me that the clock didn't work. I popped it out and it looks like it may have been lightning hit? A resistor and diode are fried.... to the point where I can't read the value on the resistor. Help! On the lower right looking at the front of the board the resistor is Orange, Orange, ??????, Silver. I also had no luck finding Patten Corporation or even James W Patten (founder)
I know I could stuff a new clock in but it'd be fun to fix the old one.

That's not it. The 77 digital clock has red digits with 2 switches and is encased in the same colored plastic that matches the tambour doors. Mine was repaired many years ago and still works. But I don't know what was repaired. I thought I saw a thread on here some time ago pertaining to that model clock?

Yes, that's it! Does anyone have one that they could look at the value of that resistor for me? Looking at the front of the board it's the one on the lower right. Mine is fried so that I can't read the color bands. Thanks for your help everyone! Way to welcome a new user. Give yourself a treat.
