I ran a 2 strand 14ga wire from the back of the stove over to my service panel. Bottom left of my stove location. Ran wire behind cabinet to get there. I had a couple of non used circuits that just needed a 3 amp fuse installed in to make a dedicated circuit for the oven. I connected one wire to the hot circuit and the other I grounded the other wire there at my main grounding lug. Good grounds are very important!
Send a finished pic!

Is that the model in the Tommy Bahamas models? We just ordered a 2018 25RB Serenity and asked if we could upgrade to that and we were told it was not available as an option. It looks great

Thanks for the shoutout! Yes, I believe it's the same range oven in the Tommy Bahama editions and the late model Classics. Sorry to hear about the objection to upgrade. We ordered ours online from Campervan HQ.

Isn't the stove slightly smaller? How did you deal with the larger than necessary opening once you removed the old one?

Dometic CU434 Stainless Oven Range

Hmm...sorry to hear. The link on my post #11 on this thread brings me right to the thread. It has seven pages, and the post is on page three. I tried pcskier's link and it brings you to a completely different thread. Try my link. Thanks pcskier for trying to help us out and post #60 is correct.

Just made a discovery. My link and post number is correct, but page number is different if accessing the website. Airforum app is page three. Website page location is page seven, but it's the same link.

We are embarking on a remodel of our 92 Excella and someone recommended this range to me. It currently has a 4 burner Magic Chef that's probably as old as our unit, though I don't believe it's original equipment. But, I digress. We full time and while we love the large oven we don't care for the cooking burners. They are small and take forever to cook on. I'd love to here some details on your experiences cooking and baking with the Dometic CU-434. If you have any things you don't like please share those as well.
Regards,
Pete

We love ours... my wife did some muffins this morning and they were great bakes well. 3 different sized burners is a nice feature too, not to mention glass window and electric start oven

Dometic CU434 Stainless Oven Range

Hello fellow appliance aficionados! Sadly I haven’t used the SMEV, but it’s my wife’s “secret lover”![emoji12] She’s an awesome cook and I may add, an appliance snob! According to her, cooking and baking/roasting with the SMEV is just as good if not better than a high end residential cooking range. The Piezo igniters easily ignite. The Jetflow burners are super efficient. And they do sound like jets! They cook evenly, and achieves simmer and high temps. Three burners of different btu’s offer great options depending on what you’re cooking. The glass lid cover is attractive and practical since it’s flush with the countertop. The oven is extremely accurate. We have an oven thermometer inside to gauge heat. My wife put a pizza stone on the bottom rack to help distribute heat more even. Oven maintains heat settings well and bakes in accurate time. Overall, the SMEV is like its Italian super car counterparts as far as performance...and of course it looks damn good too! Talk about “galley candy”! [emoji102] ciao ciao

P.S. No cons or regrets![emoji4] Except for all you planning on buying one...the price just went up $100 according to the website we bought ours from.

A big shout out to wulfraat and 4riveteers!

Thank you both for your reviews. Very encouraging. This range sounds like exactly what we have in mind.

With regards to price it has gone up. I've seen it for $849 at Panther RV Products and $899 at CamperVan-HQ.

Does anyone care to recommend where they purchased theirs?

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks for the shoutout! We bought ours from Campervan HQ.

Nice company to deal with. SMEV was dropped shipped from L.A. so we received it in a few of days. No shipping fee just sales tax. Well packed on a pallet. Campervan personally contacted us to be sure we inspected the delivery upon arrival in case of any damage to claim and/or refuse delivery. No problems what so ever.

FWIW, I had a range (not the CU434) drop-kicked ... er ... drop-shipped multiple times from Atwood. They sent it twice via UPS ground, both times it was trashed. Third time they sent it freight (like I had paid for in the first place) and it arrived in perfect condition on a pallet to the loading dock at my work.

If you are having a range shipped to you, do your best to be present at the time of delivery, and don't hesitate to refuse it if it's not pristine.

Freight on a pallet is a much better mode of transport than ground shipping, but it's spendy. If that $850-$900 includes LTL freight to your door, that's a good deal.

Yes. Excellent advice. It’s exactly what we did at Campervan‘s advise. At the time we bought our range it was about $870 total with perfect delivery.
