AC/Heat Replacement

Hello,
My husband and I own a 1979 Airstream Excella 500. The furnace and ac unit no longer work. We are considering replacing with the Dometic Penguin II heat pump: http://airstreamsupply.com/New-Airst...roduct_id=2329

Questions:
1. How can we confirm this products compatibility with our make/year?
2. Any reason to avoid dual units (heat +ac)?
3. Any better options recommended?

Thanks!

Well, your furnace runs on 12 volts, so it will keep you warm without being plugged in to 120 volts. With just a heat pump, you can only keep warm while connected.

If the a/c unit you have now is orignal, those Armstrongs are good units, and worth fixing. (IMHO)
