60's vintage appliance manuals

I JUST PURCHASED MY FIRST AIRSTREAM, A 64 SAFARI 22'. I RECEIVED ALL OF THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK, INCLUDING ALL INSTRUCTION/SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE ORIGINAL APPLIANCES. IF ANYONE IS IN NEED OF ANY OF THIS INFO, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE IT!

Very nice of you, ON SAFARI

This website is all about info sharing. I also have all of the original manuals and docs for my '71 Caravel and would gladly share with anyone in need.

Did '71 Have Service Manuals?

Rog,

Do you have a Service Manual as well as an Owner's Manual for 1971? I have the 1973 Service Manual that is 284 pages. The Owner's Manual is quite a bit smaller. If a 1971 Service Manual exists I would like to get a copy. I am especially interested in the scaled floor plans.

I have an owners manual but no service manual on the trailer. I think service manuals were first introduced in '72. Specifically, I have the owners manual on the trailer and manuals on the appliances, furnace and water heater.

YAY! I would love something... anything. I just got a 1963 Tradewind. I tried to light the appliances for the first time tonight. I couldn't get the fridge to do anything (have no idea if I'm even doing it right), the three of the four stove top burners work and the stove lights fine. I got the pilot light for the heater to work... when I was holding the button down, as soon as you let up on it the light goes out. I couldn't even fathom trying the water heater tonight- I didn't even look at it. Anyway, anything anyone has that might help me not blow myself up would be great

i just got my 71 caravel and it will be coming home with it's paper work or so they say.

i asked for a scan of the floor-plan page and the seller said it did not have one.

Question- does your paperwork have any floor plan info and if so do you have scans of them you want to share???

I haven't been able to find anything (paperwork) for a 1956 overlander.
I know a 'mamual' wasn't printed then....just a few papers delivered
to the new owner in a manila envelope. Does anyone know where I might be able to locate a copy??? Secretarial Services only goes back tothe 60's.

Would you still be willing to share your paperwork on the 64 safari? I don't know if it would work for us, but we just got a 63 Ambassador and can't find any appliance manuals. We have a Tappan 4 burner stove\oven - no fridge.
thanks!

Not sure 'ON SAFARI' will reply...last time they visted the forum was over a year ago.

It's my understanding Magic Chef & Tappen were almost identical...I think it's an east/west thing. I believe I have some info on my Magic Chef stove for my '64 GlobeTrotter, if that would be helpful and you would like a copy...let me know.

You may also want to check the Vintage Airstream Club site...there is some Magic Chef appliance literature there too.

Shari - that would be great! I'm still trying to figure out how these forums work. What would be the easiest way for me to get a copy?

Just stumbled onto this thread, and I'm having trouble figuring out the magic chef oven in my 1968 Overlander. Anyone have any Magic Chef oven manuals they'd be willing to share? Thanks!
