Winter battery Maintenance

Just wondering how to check the battery sitting in the rear of my Stream. We are in the middle of winter here and have a heating pad for the trucks battery...should I remove the Airstreams' and see how it's doing? And how do I check everything? I hope I have not froze it too much. Thanks, Bill
I always unhook one post to keep it from over charging as the former owner told us to do that.

The best way is to use a hydrometer.
The reading should be 1280 or very close to it, if the battery is fully charged.
Do you still have the original Univolt converter. If so, I would recommend upgrading to one of the new "intelligent" converter. Such as a Progressive Dynamics 9245.
If you upgrade, you will need to re connect the battery.
