Want to move batteries.... but where to run the wires?

I'm starting to get our new (to us) 1971 Tradewind's systems working... among other things I added a circuit breaker to the battery line today so I could replace the hard-to-find main fuse w/ some 1/4" copper tubing safely.... but I sure would like to get the batteries relocated from underneath the bed (sans battery box!) to the tongue. I've worked out how to weld up a removable platform to hold the batteries there, but running the needed #6 wire cleanly back to the Univolt looks... tricky. Am I going to have to remove the belly pan? Or is there some handy way of not doing that? It's clear from the corrosion and missing fastener holes in the pan that that the belly pan removal will have to happens sooner or later, but later sound better right now .

Thanks -

- Bart

Drop the belly pan. I know you don't want to. You can then run the wire in the frame channel and out the tongue. You can also inspect he frame for any issues.

when going up front with your batteries, I seriously look at using #4 gauge wire, minimum...and solder the copper cable ends for the best conductivity, as well...
