Use/Store Switch

Quick question: with my 2020 23GT, when unplugged from shore power and the use/store switch is “store”, are the batteries being charged via the stock solar system?
Thanks

Quick answer is yes, unless they changed something for 2020.

I have a related question. If one removes the batteries and the use/store switch is in the store position, would the solar still provide power to the battery compartment? I was testing cables in the battery box with the VOM and could get no reads. Thanks.

It depends on the solar controller. On my rig, if there is not about 9-10 volts on the output leads from the controller from the battery or batteries the controller will not put out any current.

When I had totally dead batteries one time the controller, with panels in full sunlight, would not kick on until I jump started the batteries briefly. Then it started cranking out a lot of current and brought the batteries back up all the way again in a few hours. I use golf cart batteries, two GC-2 6 bolsters in series. They can handle occasionally being discharged totally.

Mine is an older MPPT controller I got from AMSolar. YMMV.
