Use or Store button(Batteries/Shorepower

I have a 2005 25' Safari SS.
Today I have noticed that my batteries have run low again. This time I went ahead and got a battery charger but before I use it,I decided to play around with the Airstream and check things out like fuses and other things to see if I was doing some thing wrong in the process for the batteries to die.
Well...As I was checking some things out.I first took the shore power off line and then went inside to check the battery on the little black box.It showed that the batteries just hit the yellow mark so they were low.
When I plugged the shore power back into the camper it showed that it was 3/4 full. Now when I pressed the button from use to store and the power went to full on the little black box.
Do I need to put it on store to charge the batteries or do I set it to use?
Do I set it to use when I am pulling the Airstream or is it visa versa.
I am just a bit confused on how this works. The batteries are new but have run down a bit and I thought I was have issues with the Airstream not charging the batteries when plugged into shore power.
Also. Not to be rude but Yes I can purchase what ever I need and it sounds like this is the problem and all that stuff but all I would really like to know is how this little button works for use and store when I am camped or towing.
Thanks Everyone.

As I understand, one should press the "store" to disconnect the batteries from the electrical system.

I have observed on my AS, that if I press "store" when plugged into shore power the red indicator on this panel with remain lit. I am sure this is an indication the converter is supplying voltage to the system, even without the batteries connected.

I know the "system status indicator” uses only voltage to determine the red, yellow or green status of the batteries. Remember this is a rather poor indicator of true battery status. I believe you are seeing a higher indication with the master switch in the "store" position because the batteries are in a discharged state, and when you place the master switch in the "use" position and the batteries are in the circuit, they are pulling down the voltage to a point the status indicator sees less voltage. I would allow the batteries to charge overnight and test this theory.

The short answer would have been, place the switch in the "store" position when the trailer is not in use.

Best Regards,

You need to figure out what is draining your batteries when in store mode. Our friends have an 04' like yours and noticed the radio still liked to pull a slow drain on the batteries unless they physically turned it off. They put in a disconnect switch to stop the problem.
