univolt parts?

I was just wondering if anyone new what kind of part this is burnt up on my converter. looks like some type of resistor. can I find a replacement part? i pland on getting a new one in any event. thanks peeps.

Welcome to the forum.

Seeing as how the part appeared to be mounted on the chassis instead of the heat sink, it is probably not a thermostatic cut-off switch.

But seeing as how it interrupts the AC power, I think it is a circuit breaker.

I think that part is a "surge protector."

They didn't do much good back then.

Hook the wires back up without it and see what happens.

Be sure to use an in-line fuse though.
