How can I tell if my univolt is adequately charging my battery?

Airstream Registry

Voltage should be 13.8 VDC. Lower will under chagre. over will cook the battery. You will hear this many times. Throw the Univolt away. Get a modern three stage charger.

Check the charge at the battery

Use a volt meter to see what the battery voltage is charging at! It is best if it holds around 13.8 VDC. Happy Trails, Ed

Mine was holding steady @13.83, so at least I got that going for me.
