Unitvolt (HUGH) breakaway voltage

I have a 22 Ft 1974 Argosy. which I have run for many years. The problem I need a circuit diagramme it has the Univolt supply I know it is a Voltage doubler and the problem is That I have little (1.2 V) at the breakaway switch.
And I had a stroke. makes servicing a chore.
I need the voltage at the breakaway switch to run the tongue for the hook up. PLEASE give me a few suggestions. My head is not what it was. I had been in Electronics for 35 years, but not thing clear. No systems schematic and no one around here wants to look at an OLD trailer.
Any help would be of great assistance

You are probably going to have to have a battery installed to get the voltage & amps to operate the tongue jack.

If I remember the early Univolt is a huge step down transformer and a half dozen large 2MFD can capacitors for filters with no regulation. I dumped mine it just wasn't worth rebuilding.

Best to replace with a modern 3 stage charger Univolt is famous for boiling batteries and loud enough hum to keep you awake at night.

If that is the only spot you have low voltage then you have a bad ground at that location.

Breakaway Voltage

Thanks for suggestions guys.
I suspect that a bad ground may be the problem now that you mention it. See what a stroke can do to this old head.
I have been in Electronics since 1946. and should have thought of it. I will have to look into this. I did in preparation to go south take the battery out and clean the terminals and refurbish the hardware, Bet I goofed not really somewhere.

Sure wish I could go to my Key West place , but not anymore. The old guy is falling apart. I have so many people stop and ask if I want to sell this machine. I have spent more than35 years of part time living in it.

I have arranged to have it cremated along with me , and spread over the home property.

Thanks again.
