Two batteries Use only one?

My 2001 Excella has two batteries, one of them tests Replace & the other tests good. For the next three months I should most days be connected to shore power 110v with only an occasional need for battery power for at most one or two nights. Should I disconnect the bad battery? I would like to postpone replacing both batteries untill I am using the on board power dry camping, in the fall of the year.

yes, disconnect the weak battery and insulate the cable ends to prevent a short. the weak battery will cause the better battery to overcharge.

It will work fine, and in fact I have friends who never dry camp, always in a park with hook ups, and so never buy but one battery for their 31 footer.

You have to have a hot battery for the brakes to work in the event of a breakaway.

I use one battery and it works fine. The old trailers only had one battery.
