My transformer is under the couch at front of trailer and hums as I think it should. It will not charge the battery. I have tryed to reverse the polarity, as the light is burned out with no luck. The battery goes dead over night. Any ideas? The power meter shows a lot of elec. being used. The frig does not work so is unplugged. 1978 land yacht/Trade wind 25 ft. We are new at this so ant help would be great! Thanx, Roger

It can hum all it wants and still not put out the correct voltage... it's probably shot.

Put a volt meter on it and see what it says. Reversing wires is dangerous especially when you consider the amount of current the batteries and converter can put into a short circuit. Look for blown fuses and test them with a meter set to ohms.
