I have a picture but have to resize it first (both the univolt and the picture) mine is blue and buried behind the bath tub.

Mine on my 82 Excella would burn battries up in short order. Even killed a gell battery that was said to be bullet proof. If you have a Univolt it's time to look for a new converter.

The scrap value of the copper will nearly buy a new type.

Cool Whats a univolt?

And how do I know if I have one?

I know what a Uni-Brow is... but that has been corrected...

If I have a 1982 Excella would I have one...?

Does it hurt to have it extracted?

Do I replace it with a prothesis? Can you get one in flesh tones? Or maybe a leopard print?

Jump...do you hear a humming noise, when the power is plugged in? IIRC yours should be under/behind the front gaucho.

Technology marches on, the new Progressive Intelipower are the only way to go, IMHO.

The only one I did not replace in my rigs was the 73 Overlander. It made very little noise and the output was right on. Never had an issue with the battery. Check your output with a multi meter.
http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/?Click=155 is also a good source for replacements.

Well....that brings up a whole lot of issues...sometimes the voices seem to be humming...but only when my mother-in-law or my sales manager is talking....and talking...and talking...I'm trying not to do what the voices tell me to do but it's becoming more and more difficult...

or did you mean only in the trailer? no, there's no humming in there...but we sing quite a bit when we are campin out....

Anyone know whats inside a Univolt or do I have to open that bad boy up?
I am getting really bad RFI in the am radio. I know "NO BODY LISTENS TO AM ANYMORE" In fact it is drowding out any signal on AM.
If its a standard inverter with cans and vibrator and Resistors I can handle that.

As I remember there are 2 capacitors. Careful you don't get zapped.
