Testing 7300 converter

I have an '04 16' CCD. The battery is not charging when hooked to shore power. Everything is working otherwise, air conditioner, etc. The Airstream manual says to test the converter by disconnecting the 12+ wire from the master switch and then check voltage output between heavy positive and negative wires coming out of the converter. My question is: What and where is the 12+ wire and what and where is the master switch? I don't want to short anything out here.

Thanks, Jamie

Jamie,
The 12 volt main disconnect on our '06 Classic is on the access door to the 12 volt fuse panel / converter. It is behind the drawer under our sofa. It is a big silver rotary switch. It only has two positions...ON and OFF. You need to turn the swith OFF and with a multi-meter test the output of the converter. Locate the converter and the terminals should be labeled "+" and "-". The "+" is the heavy RED wire and the "-" is white, I think.

Jamie,
Your 12 volt master disconnect should look something like this, but probably not exactly...

Oops! My bad. It was a blown 30 amp fuse. It's usually the simplest answer. Thanks for the input though. Jamie

Jamie,
Always start simple and then work towards the complicated. Just glad you isolated your problem. Were you able to locate your 12 volt main disconnect switch?

In any 12 volt system problem always suspect a bad ground or ground fault, a blown fuse, or a short. Those are the three big gottcha's when dealing with 12 volt systems.

Now for the million dollar question...what made a 30A fuse blow?
