surge protection, electric maintenance

Progressive Industries had a booth at the International Rally. They offer a product either in 30 amp or 50 amp that monitors the electricity into your coach from the campground.

I understand they monitor it for cycles, voltage, amp draw, surges and/or spikes, polairity, ground, etc. In the event of damaging power, their unit shuts down the power to the coach.

Does anyone have any experience with this or the surge guard offered by camping world?

All you electrical guru's, any thoughts?
