Second + battery install

My 1985 Sovereign has only one original battery, obviously one door and one compartment. We all know one battery is the minimum. What has been done to install extra batteries for the extra power storage. All imputs welcome.

As an alternative to a 2nd battery put in a bigger battery. I have a 4B which gives 200 amp hours. There is also a humungous 8B which produces 300 amp hours.

I got this battery box from bestconverter.

I modified the door by removing the piano hange and replacing with channel and drawlatches so I can access the box without interfering with the propane tanks.

It holds two type 31 AGM's so we've got considerable 12v staying power. Since I am currently towing with a F350 DRW I'm carrying the spare tire in the back of the truck instead of the tire bracket that was in this location. Also, I don't need a weight distribution setup. If I did I would add spacers to allow enough room under the box for the frame brackets.

I've just installed 2 100 amp batteries marine deep cycles under a settee in a marine battery box. Also a battery switch so that 1 battery at a time is in use and switch over when it gets low.

A smart marine battery charger is installed so that every time shore power is connected the batteries get correctly charged and conditioned, plus the TV will also charge while travelling.

Thanks for all the imput. Sounds like I will mount a second battery in the A frame just behind the gas tanks. I can wire through the drain holes. I will also include a 1-2- both battery switch so I can distribute the power as I need it. The higher the amps the better, I get it!
