Request for Help Diagnosing Power Issue
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone with electrical expertise could help me diagnose an issue. Here are the facts:
I have a 2015 unit, 50 amp with 2 ACs. I'm at a 30 amp site, connected with a pigtail 30 to 50 adapter and my 50 amp cord.
When plugged in to shore power, with the battery set to Use, everything in the unit works as it should (only one AC at a time of course), except that the battery is not charging, based in the voltage I see on the wall monitor.
Then, while still plugged in, if I turn the battery to Store, it kills power to the overhead lights, the radio, and other things that the battery typically can run; power continues to the wall outlets, however, but the AC shuts down.
This happens at the 30 amp power source at my home as well, so it is not likely a local power issue.
It was not like this when I first got the unit, so I don't believe it is mis-wiring during the manufacturing process.
I'm not near 50 amp service, so I can't test to see if I have the same issue when connected to 50 amps.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Joe

I suspect your 50/30 Dogbone is not providing 120 volts to each 50 amp leg. Easy to tell if only half of your ac circuits are powered.

Yes, I would suspect the adaptor, but also turn your main trailer breaker off and then on again, there is a possibility that half has popped and only half is working. Turning it off and then on will reset it and eliminate that possibility.

With guidance received here (thank you!), I connected my progressive industries 50 amp surge protector (PT50C) to the dog bone and it read out that line 1 and line 2 are both receiving 120v, so I think that may eliminate a problem at the pedestal or the dog bone.
I shut down all power and rest all breakers and let the unit rest for a few minutes, then fired everything back up - no improvement.
I checked the two 30 amp fuses, and both appear fine.
One clarification from my initial post. When plugged in to 30 amps, with the battery in the store position, it seems the only things powered in the camper are the electrical outlets.
Although probably not relevant, I have the factory 1000 inverter and factory solar.
Thanks for any further suggestions you may want to offer.

Do you have power going to your inverter? Is it charging and putting out power?
Also will the 12 volt system work when it's unplugged from the 30 Amp service?

Hi Silverflames.
Yes, when turned on, the inverter is putting out power to the enabled power outlets.
The battery itself does not charge when plugged into shore power, except for solar charging.
When unplugged from shore power and the battery set to Use, all DC systems are working normally.
Thanks again for putting thought into this.

You clearly are not getting AC to your converter or your converter has failed so that when you go to store, all 12 v is cut off. Normally plugged in to AC, in Store, the converter provides 12 v to AC control and so on.
I do not know the transfer switch arrangement in the 50 Amp trailers. Do you have a separate plug in for AC on the front of the trailer? Try plugging your shorepower in there. These switches do fail with the factory model.

Thanks Larry, unfortunately the current 50 amp units do not have the front power ports, so I can't try that test. I appreciate the response though. Joe

Request for Help Diagnosing Power Issue
Sounds like a bad 'converter', which should be providing 12VDC to the trailer loads AND charging the batteries when on shore power.
NOTE*****
The batteries will NOT charge if you are not in the 'use' position at the disconnect switch, but all of your DC loads should be energized regardless of the switch position when on shore power. The light on the disconnect should be lit regardless of the switch position.
