Propane detector

Hi My wife and I just bought a 2004 28' foot safari. I have a question on the propane detector. If I have the battery disconnect on store will the propane detector still draw power from the batteries?

My other question is how do I contact other airstream owners in my home state of Montana?

We are really excited about our airstream and I am learning a lot from the airstream forums.

My detector was wired around the power shut off switch. That is, it was live all the time the batteries were hooked up. I think that is code. I moved my detector power supply into the into the fuse block so now it shuts off with the cutoff switch.
Some will tell you that having them not powered of periods of time will cause false alarms, but I have not experienced that in the last year, including 5 months in storage.

We just bought a 2002 25 foot Safari. It has a solar panel on the roof. I have noticed that when I turn the battery switch off that the propane detector has a light that continues to flash. I have not done any research on this yet. Are you experiencing a similar light flashing on the propane detector with the battery switch off?

I know that the propane detector on mine does remain connected to the battery even though the battery disconnect is active. The load is minimal, but could be considered a parasitic drain. For seasonal storage, either disconnect the battery physically or if possible, provide a way to charge it monthly. The CO and smoke detectors have their own batteries. I remove them and the water filter battery when I winterized the trailer to avoid any battery leakage damage.

Ridgerunner, I do not have any lights flashing on the detector when I have the battery disconnect on store.

Then it's wired downstream from the disconnect switch and it does not draw power when the switch is in the disconnect position.
