Ok. I bought the Progressive Dynamics power converter/battery charger 45 amp and the parallex 12 volt fuse box FB9 as suggested on the best converter website. But no instructions and how to connect them. The PD9245 owners manual shows two different ways to connect it and the parallex link shows a whole different connection with some sort of shut or fuse or something to connect to the battery. How am I supposed to connect what wires to what terminals? Where am I supposed to connect the positive wires on the top of the fuse panel on one or all three or the bottom 9. And what is the difference in a chasis ground and a negative ground. It can't be this difficult.

Not seeing it makes it hard to explain, but, there are codes to help you.
For 120 v., hot wires (black, maybe red) go to brass connectors—a screw or something should be that color. Common wire (white) goes to silver connector. Ground goes to bare or green connector. Battery wires are coded differently—black is often ground (negative), red hot (positive), but both may be black. + and – should be marked on the battery terminals. Wire colors may vary because of things done by previous owners or incorrect color used at the factory. 12 v. wires are often many colors and may use stripes to add combinations.
I'm unsure, but I think a chassis ground means ground to the trailer body. That would be for 12 v. A "negative ground" may mean the shore power ground but as I understand it that's a term for automotive (and RV) wiring systems (long ago they were positive ground).
Battery wires and shore power connects to the converter (in), and 12 v. and 120 v. wires come out. What goes out attaches to the panel with breakers for 120 v. and fuses for 12 v. The 120 v. breakers will have a 30 amp (probably) main breaker which is directly connected to the converter 120 v. (maybe) and then the rest of the breakers are energized. The branch circuits are attached to the other breakers. Shore power could come directly to the breaker panel and then to the converter, but it seems more logical to work it the other way. I can't remember whether there is a main fuse for 12 v., but smaller wires will come from the converter to go to the fuses. Of course, this is all in my imagination and your results may vary.
I don't know what amperage the original shore power was for the Argosy. Now it would be 30 amps. If it were lower, your shore power wires may be undersized. I think the newer trailers have 10 AWG (American Wire Gauge) and it is hard to bend. Wires out to the branch circuits will be 12 or 14 AWG. 12 v. will be much thinner; battery wires much thicker.
Now someone who actually knows what they are talking about may post.
Electrical work is very logical once you understand the basics. Eventually it will make sense.

What you say here makes sense to me. I am usually very good at electrical work. After looking at it again, I see they are two different converters on the paperwork from the website. I think they just made something easy more difficult than it really is. Yes the trailer has 30 amp service.

After consulting the wiring diagram from my owners manual I think I have figured out how to connect. Except the wire from the tv for charging battery while traveling. Can I use the same fuse panel?

Well Susan69, I can't answer on your Argosy without seeing the wiring. However, I just wired up my PD9260(PD9245 on Steroids LOL). The Blue wire from my panel goes to the tongue, and connects to my tongue jack, and the tow vehicle charge wire. I needed 30 amps because of tongue jack requirements, and the fuse block is 20 Amp max, so I wired my blue wire to a separate 30 amp fuse holder. If you do not have a tongue jack, I think it would be ok to place the blue wire on one of the 15 or 20 amp fuses in your Parralax fuse block since it is for charging only.

I was wondering because on the univolt it is a 30 amp fuse and it doesn't need to go through the converter. It might even harm it? I guess I can connect it directly to the battery with a fuse on the wire?

I almost bought the 60 amp converter as it was not that much more money but I was afraid I would overload the system.

My univolt doesn't have any indication of what each wire goes to. It has a purple yellow and pink wire. Do you know what each one controls?

Gene, your answers are always complete and easy to follow. I like the fact that you also recommend reading others responses to get a complete picture. Thanks, jim

Yes, these are the 12 volt wires to your lights, fans, and 12 volt plug at the tv plug. Each wire should go to a fuse at the Parallax fuse panel. I have a diagram, I am going to scan it and see if I can post.
