Yes. If your batteries are in good condition, that is correct. Note that what also kills batteries is discharging them below 50%. That can easily occur when in storage if the batteries are not stored in a charged state or if the parasitic loads remain connected. A battery disconnect switch or disconnecting the cables is recommended. Pat

You can splice it like somebody mentioned if you already have the older 9200 series remote pendant but we now have a modified remote with the correct plug already on it.

If you look at the last photo in the original post, you can see a cable that goes from the bottom left (with a brown end) up to the board with all the fuses on the right. Your pendant should plug in to the slot on the lower board (bottom left of that picture). You mention an RJ45 Jack - is that a phone jack? I don't recall that being the connector on mine - it's 4 pins but not a phone plug. Did you buy the unit from Best Converter? If so, give Randy a call and be sure you have the right part.

Good luck!

The part number for the remote pendant that does not require splicing is PD92201TV

Necessity to upgrade if not on shore power long term?

If the longest I'm ever plugged in to shore power is a week or so, and then batteries are kept on a smart trickle charger between trips...is there any advantage to upgrading to a multi-stage converter? Or is it only when stored longer term on shore power with the stock unit that the batteries overcharge? It's a moot point because I just ordered one from BestConverter, but I am curious anyway.

Lots of reasons including your example. No need for a trickle charger and much better charge profile when you are plugged = substantially longer battery life!

On the included fuse panel the led and overide button are only accessible by opening the panel cover. The remote pendant can be mounted where is easily visible/accessible all the time.

In op photos the control cable runs from board below to the 12v board. If you use the pendant, I guess you splice cable from board below and nothing is connected to the 12v board?

There is no pd92201tv listed on PD website and the pd92201 on their site shows a phone type plug.

It's not on their website but it does exist. I have hundreds of them, or at least dozens. They plug directly into the converter and not the phone cable plug but rather the 4 pin used on the 4600 series upgrades.

Kinda, if you use the correct pendant, it does plug into the converter and no splicing is required. If fact, there is no reason to even change out the fuse board on the 7355 or 8355 since the same status indicator and over ride button is on the pendant and you can see it and use it without having to crawl on the floor and open the panel

Snowy, thanks for the pictures and step-by-step instructions. Appreciate the extra time to document the installation and write it up for our benefit. Just ordered my PD4655 from Amazon.
