PD 4655 install video.
I have a new PD4655 winging it's way to me arriving Friday. Being a visual sort of guy I like good videos of maintenance projects. Any suggestions of best or better videos of the PD4655 being installed. The ones I have found leave something to be desired. Thanks

I've installed three of these now. Very simple install and the video and link Gsmblue provided are helpful. Randy is there to answer your questions too. You should have no problem. The only hiccup I ran into on one of the installs was not enough slack in the positive wire. You should be able to access the lock down clamp, loosen and pull more of the wire through. Good luck on the install.

I feel you've budgeted a little low on the beers...

I have some photos of my installation. It took me longer because I had to figure out how to connect the two white wires from the Parallax to the single lug of the PD4655. I had to drive 10 miles to a Home Depot for a part I used from the storage site where I had the AS parked. Starting on post #33

Ok, so that was a giant PITA!
Not difficult, just fiddly. The instruction are barely adequate! I took my time and was done in less than 1.5 hours. That included going back to get tools and sit in the house AC for a bit as it is warm out!
Here are my notes...
1. The way the hot wires are put into the main breaker.... not good. I ended up using a red wire nut to join the breaker, the converter and the hot wire. If you need a picture let me know, I forgot to take one when I did it all up.. The PD instruction do cover this.
2. The wires from the battery to the DC board, these may not be long enough, if you unscrew the the converter mount and slide the whole unit out you can actually loosen the clamp on those wires and liberate that critical extra inch.
3. When you disconnect the old DC board, take a picture of the branch lines, Do step 2 above, slide in the new converter, route the wires behind the DC board. screw the DC board in place then use the picture you took to feed the brach wires back in.
Enjoy

Mine will be delivered tomorrow. I think I have read the manual at least 3 times just day. Nervous but hopeful!

You will be fine! It is not a big deal.
Take your time, walk away if you get frustrated by stupid screws and crappy wires!
That video I posted, in hind sight, was very useful. It is quick, but watch each step carefully.
Let us know how you get along!

Pretty sure I will be back here asking stupid questions as the project hopefully progresses.

I think you'll find it goes pretty easily past any access or wire length issues. Ive done two of my SS trailers where neither had the above problems. Spent more time reading and worrying than did the job itself.

It's here, it is currently 94* in the trailer. Opened all the windows and vents and put a couple of fans in trying to move some hot air around.⛄️

Install is complete. Only issue was 98* interior trailer temp. It took several heat stroke breaks to get it done. Total time about 3 hours including 2 hours for breaks. Everything seems to be working and batteries are charging at 13.6 volts with a rapid blinking green light. Surprisingly no extra mystery wires left over.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

Must be the heat stroke but I am sitting here planning my next project already. Extending the height of my battery box a couple of inches and installing a couple of 6 volt batteries.
