It's more convenient to use a 'paper'manual', as for the most part one cannot just take a computer in most places.
Would you take your laptop to the 'biffy'? Or on a streetcar/subway?

To prevent my converter from overcharging the batteries during storage, I have placed a 115VAC timer between the house outlet and the trailer power cord. The timer is set for one hour/day power. This maintains the batteries without overcharging them and boiling them off. It works.

I too just took possession of a 2016 and picked it up, only to discover during a black out at the resort I'm plugged into, that I have no power. Nada...zip! Here is the weird part...I HAVE INVERTER POWER! Can't run the water pump or have a light on, but can watch TV??? I have lived in a 2015 for over a year so very familiar with most issues, but this one perplexes me...especially after the shore power came back on and batteries were at 13.6. Any ideas?

Now sure why they would do it but it sounds like the inverter is hard wired to the batteries and there is a breaker or fuse between the batteries and the 12 volt panel. When shore power is available the convertor would supply 12 volts and keep the batteries charged. without shore power the batteries would be out of the circuit.

With a volt meter and shore power off test for voltage at the 12 volt panel. You should see voltage. Use the trailer metal as the ground for the meter. If none turn the shore power back on and test again. if in the second case the panel has power there is a fault between the batteries and the panel.
