New Owner experience converter problem

Weve had our new 23-D International for ~ 2 weeks and are very happy. Colonial Airstream was very helpful. We really appreciate having this forum to learn about the streaming life. We only have 3 issues with our new trailer: 1) the T valve on the Pez for the toilet leaked for the first week then stopped leaking. Self-healing I guess. 2) the slide out pantry cabinet slid open while underway and damaged its edge before we found it and tied it down. The latch is insufficient and the shelf now needs to be realigned. Looks like a 2 beer project that I hope to fix myself.

Problem #3 needs more attention. The Parallax 7355 converter fan is always on (that is when plugged in to shore power). We can turn off all DC drains (except propane sensor and frig) and the converter fan still stays on forever until it is unplugged. Even overnight with Battery Disconnect in Store mode, shore power plugged in, the fan will stay on all night. Its very annoying and needs to be fixed. Annoying enough that I go out and unplug every night before bed and any other time we want a break from loud fan noise. The tech guy at Parallax agrees with my diagnosis and says that the thermostat controller for the fan is broke. Its not repairable and the whole unit will need to be replaced. I think it will be only the lower unit, 7355R. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I anticipate any problem with getting this covered under warranty by Airstream (the unit does work but is noisy all the time)? Any comments are appreciated.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Your description of the problem with the cooling fan on your converter definitely sounds like a bad fan controller. I would think that this issue should be fully covered under warranty by either Airstream or Parallax.

Abnormal converter cooling fan operation should be covered under your two year Airstream factory warranty. Give your local dealer a call, and schedule a return date for it.
