New Airstream w/factory inverter: lights but no outlet power

First (post-purchase) post!

I was trying to get my wifi set up, and it seems that I have an inverter problem with our new 2015 International Signature 27FB. When I turn on the inverter, I get lights but none of the blue-labelled outlets seem to work.

Did I miss a step? The batteries were fully charged at the dealer; I'm just messing around in the driveway at the moment, without any power hookup. I haven't really delved into the docs yet (that comes next...).

Check the switch. When I picked up my FC this year the switch was bad, luckily we caught it on the walk through.

When you say lights, are you meaning the main lights? You don't need the inverter to run the lights. If you mean the light on the switch you may have a problem. There is a button on the end of the inverter itself that someone at the factory, or on the PDI may have forgot to set properly? It sets the unit to work on remote ( kitchen).

I had indeed missed a step; for some reason I was thinking the battery power switch also controlled the inverter. So I had just never turned the inverter on using the inverter switch. RTM ftw

New trailers are so much fun just trying to figure out to operate the different systems. The Airstream Owners Manual is not worth the paper it is printed on.

We have also just purchased a new airstream (2014 27FB International). We are complete Newbies, having not had a trailer in more than 20 years. I agree with your comment about the manulal, AWCHIEF.

Like ciparis, we are still in the "playing on the driveway" stage. Question: When plugged in to shore power (an extension cord from the house), we noticed a fan running intermittently in the vicinity of the power converter. Is this normal?

Most likely a cooling fan operating normally.

I was annoyed that the manual we got for our 2015 was the 2014 one... lazy!!!

We spent 2 weeks on the driveway then last weekend we got out. So happy I spent the time on the driveway and on these forums. I feel it really accelerated the learning!
