Howdy ya'll!
Jackie and I are working on our '59 Ambassador remodel and are starting to piece together our electrical system for off-grid use. One of the pieces that we've put a ton of thought into is the battery system as it's certainly a larger part of the power system investment.
Through a thread in here I believe, I started looking into Lithionics and realized that they're based out of Clearwater, FL, just up the road from our house. I've been talking with Stephen Tartaglia (@SteveTag) and his folks at Lithionics over the last month or so about our application. We took a trip up to their office to take a little tour and sit down and ask all the dumb questions that I have
He's been REALLY accommodating. They've made some interesting updates lately to their BMS (adding bluetooth monitoring) and they just got UL Listing on their
12V and 24V systems which is a first, I understand.
We've been documenting our experience on our blog at our website if you want to see some pictures and learn more about their batteries.
I'll be honest, I don't have the knowledge base that a few people here that do solar and battery installs for a living but I did take a few engineering courses as an undergrad.
Thought I'd share if anyone wants to learn more from what we've been looking at. We'll be taking delivery of our battery hopefully the last week in November or the first week of December. I'm still sizing it out and speccing it out. Once we have the exact one, I'll update here.
I'll be adding a schematic of our complete power system to hopefully get some feedback from all of you soon!
