Isolator? charge line ?
I need some advice:
how hard is it to add a 12v DC charge line from TV to TT, or is it all ready in the 7 way?
Any recommendations on an isolator, how to's and size, links? diagrams?
locatin?
We have a 02' Doge Ram Diesel it has 2 start batteries
1962 Safri 22ft.
Thanks to all that have helped with our baby.

A charge line is already built into the trailer.
It's a "blue" wire.

Indy,
The seven wires are:
tail and running lights
right turn/brake
left turn/brake
electric brakes
ground
backup lights
charge line

On my last two TVs the charge line was only active when the key to the TV was on. This prevents the trailer from draining the TV battery when parked.

If the TV was built with a towing package, it most likely has a battery isolator for the reason previously mentioned. If using a volt meter or test light to verify your charge line, the ignition must be on. On my earlier Mopar, the isolator was a diode block mounted on the firewall. On the current Ford it is a relay located in the engine compartment fuse box. The output from the isolator is often protected with a fuse. All 7-pin trailer connectors should include the charge line. If you don't see 12v at the 7-pin socket with the ignition on, check your TV owner's manual for the location of the relay and fuse.
