Inverter not working

My inverter has stopped working, not sure when it started. The trouble shooting guide is not helpful as I'm not an electrician nor did I stay in a holiday inn last night. Any input would help.Click image for larger version

More details, please. Do you have power inbound? Is there any output at all?

Your inverter (if your orange highlited fault is correct) has experienced an over current fault. In English, this means that it has seen a draw over it's rated capacity.

If your inverter has a re-set button, now would be a good time to push it and try to re-set the unit.

If you don't have this button, then you should remove ALL POWER, both AC and DC from the unit, Including any phone type cable for 15 minutes to allow the unit to re-boot.

If that does not yield results, your unit is probably shot and is NOT REPAIRABLE.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lewster I will try that.If the battery is disconnected and no shore power is plugged in is it possible the solar panel still provides power?

You should find the inverter positive cable connected directly to the batteries. You will also find the inverter positive cable going thru a large flat fuse, usually encased in a plastic shield. You can disconnect the inverter power at that fuse to be certain that you have the correct cable.

Solar should make no difference.

i blew my internal fuses in my unit from an overload. it uses 2 35A ATC fuses. in a pinch 30A will get you going with a lower output limit. you can get the fuses from mouster.com. the fuse replacement requires total powering off and removal of about 10 cover screws.

I have a 2006 23' and probably the same inverter as Coaster. The fuses were blown when I bought it because the PO had too much draw. I replaced the two fuses with a lower value (25 or 30, can't remember). The 35s are really hard to find. I bought a bunch off Amazon and they are in the trailer for when I have some time to swap them out.

A BIG word of caution. When you remove the main 12v power cable, DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!
I did, which blows a very expensive fuse that was located behind my L-couch. I had to remove most of the couch to get to it. In fact, when I go back to put the proper fuses in it, I'm going to disconnect the battery to prevent a similar occurrence.

You wouldn't believe how fast that thing blew. No major arching, sparking or anything. It was less than a static electricity spark. The replacement was priced from $25 to $60 depending on the seller. Google the part number on the Internet if you blow it.

I would also note that when i plugged the the power cord in the back of the unit in the garage it worked just fine 125 volts output. Very confusing.

I believe the power cord is a pass through. Mine, in the trailer, is not plugged into anything. It only has the 12v input. Use a multimeter to check your fuses. If you're testing outside the AS then you need a good 12v battery positive and ground. Hook it up and turn on the switch, see if it fires up.

I haven't looked at the owner's manual in a while but I think by plugging the inverter into shore power it uses the inverter plugs like regular plugs, just passes along the 120vac. When shore power isn't available you turn on the inverter and it converts the 12vdc to 120ac.

Did you check your fuses?
Do you have 12v coming into the inverter?
Do you have a good ground on the inverter?
Is the inverter power-on switch good?

If the inverter isn't fried on the inside it may be worth repairing.

WFCO inverters are generally NOT repairable, effectively rendering them throw-aways.
