Inverter Install

Where is the best place to install an inverter? I bought the Xantrex 1000 watt and have a 25' Airstream with a sofa. (if that matters). The directions state to use a zero gauge wire and no longer than 6'. My battery connections are under the sofa below the front window. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Electrical rules apply, not opinions.

Not many choices when you can only go 6 feet.

Mount the inverter as close to the battery as possible. The 1000 watt inverter will draw in excess of 90 amps from the battery(s) when under full load. The wire should be sized for the total load.
If you have access to welding cable or locomotive cable. This type of cable is high current capable, flexible and easy to work with.

Mine is mounted under the couch right next to the converter.

A reminder to also fuse (or circuit breaker) the new install... both on the DC side as well as AC ...
