Inverter...

Good morning-

Does anyone knows if it's ok to plug the T.T. to the house 110 with out the battery? Will this do damage to the inverter of an Airstream or any T.T?

Thank you in advance..

unless there is something specify to your trailer that requires the battery in place, No that should not be a problem. If your converter is working you should also have 12v power to lights while connected to 110 as well.

Here's a little more detail about the question from richinny. Many of the older "Univolt" converter-chargers need a battery in the circuit to provide stable output, so it's not a great idea to operate one of those without the battery.

With newer models (even the single-stage Parallax ones Airstream has been installing from the factory for years now) it'll work OK as long as you're careful to isolate the positive battery cable to prevent a short circuit.

It's a 2014 I do not know the model of the converter. as of now I don't have access to the T.T. do to the amount of snow around the T.T.

For a 2014 trailer as long as you're careful to isolate the ends of the battery cables to prevent a short, it should run fine plugged in without the batteries.

I had a power surge a couple weeks ago and now there's a humming noise coming out of the battery compartment. The batteries are only 2 yrs old. 2008 signature series AS. Unplugged from house it still makes the humm until I hit battery disconnect. Any thought what it might be?
