Hi
I just replaced the univolt in my
1966 overlander and had a couple of questions/concerns.
First I am not a wiz electronically but I believe the 92000 is installed just as the directions advised. I also consulted the forum for ideas before tackeling the job. I have the two red wires on the pos connector and the white on the neg. I did not change out the old 12 v fuse pannel yet as I wanted to see if I could get things (12 v lights and outlets) working first.
Anyway I plugged in the trailer to 110 and the 92000 seemed to be working ok as I had 12 v lights, fans and the outlets worked. I let the 92000 plugged in for some time and noticed that it was quite hot and the fan was not running?? I understand that the unit has a thermal shutdown for protection but was concerned that it was getting pretty hot and no fan. I unplugged the trailer from the 110 and the little remote mode selector indicated that it was "full" on ie. charging the battery? Its been unplugged for 24 hours and the indicator is still on and I still have 12 v lights in the coach. So it must have charged the battery some because I am pretty sure it had no charge. I have a battery status/checker mounted on the wall in a bathroom cabinet but it either doesn't move or bounces a little but goes back to poor or no charge.
So I am I going to burn the 92000 up, is it defective, when should the fan come on? Am I messing things up by not swithching out the
12v fuse pannel.
Oh I also wanted to thank the forum for help on the water heater issue I had. I'll be posting a picture soon the final result look pretty darn good.
Thanks
