PD has a direct replacement chart on their web site.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."

I also did a Progressive Dynamics install. But, I changed out the entire panel. Had to modify the cabinetry, but it made a very nice job. Have been very pleased with it. My coach was originally 30amp; now it's 50amp. The PD unit is nearly silent. My older unit made lots of noise. My batteries stay nicely topped off but without cooking, as the old one did. Overall, very happy with them.

You should contact Randy at He would definitely know for sure.
Randy thinks a Boondocker converter is what I need. The installation looks complicated. At my age (80) I've lost a lot of my ambition

I agree with comment about it being quiet!

I've installed the PD in two trailers -- 2012 28' Intl CCD and 2015 30' Classic. Both with AGM's. It's a great upgrade from the crummy WFCO....and really important to move away from that piece of junk when you're using AGM's. The last thing you want to do is overcharge them....and the PD will keep them perfectly charged all the way up to when it floats them. Actually, I don't think I would even consider spending the $ on AGM's without a better charger/converter unit than the WFCO.

Not a direct replacement for a Series 500 model 555

I have a Parallax series 500 unit. Picked up a PD-4655 thinking it would be a drop in replacement but I found out the hard way it was not. Apparently there is a Parallax drop in replacement that has a deeper tray than the Model 555 which turns it into a 5355.

Decided to do some field mods and I was able to get the control board mounted and the two fans. Mounted the fuse board to the front of the tray where the original was. In the end it looks great and seems to work awesome.
