Has anyone installed a Hubbell 30A inlet.Their appearance is that of a Marinco and also Stainless Steel. They are less expensive and I understand much easier to hook to the breaker box.
Marinco has stainless for their marine applications. I installed one on my SOB many years ago. I believe they started off in Marine, and expanded to RVs. Try googling boating websites.
in my former life within the telecommunications industry, we used a number of portable generators, at many different sites. The gens were equipped with a variety of connectors to be readily usable at those differing sites. Hubbel connectors/plugs were the standard for our stuff. Bullet proof, grounding make before hots as well as neutral, and well built, easy to use. go for it.
You can find plenty of Marinco, including the outlet you mentioned, at WestMarine.com. You might also look at SmartPlug.com, which is making a newer version of the 30A inlet for marine use, and may work well for Airstreams.
Great guys. Thanks!I keep losing my bids for the Marincos on Ebay(where Melody Ranch snagged a new one for $40)He even called me to say the guy had 4 more and my money had just gone for the Prodex at the time. The Hubbells look good and I have found some great deals on them.
