Help! Pressing "Store" Now Turns Battery Power ON!

Hi everyone, looking for a little help regarding strange recent behavior with my battery system.

Last week, my 2011 25 FC (factory solar with AGM's and inverter installed) was working fine when on battery power. Today, when I uplug, with the battery cut off set to USE, and there was no power to anything except the LP detector, the solar monitor, and the inverter-powered outlets (if I turn the inverter on). Everything else is dead.

So here is the strange part (for me at least, an electrical system novice). Toggling the battery cut-off to "Use" does nothing (no red light, no click, nothing), but toggling the button to STORE makes the red light go on, and audible click, and all power comes back for as long as you are willing to hold the toggle button to STORE. It is almost as if the shut off is doing the opposite of what it is supposed to do.

(The only other odd electrical behavior over the past few weeks has been some repeated clicking from the solar charger under the twin bed, from time to time.)

Anyone have a guess of what might be going on? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the solenoid the use/store switch actually controls has failed.

When pushed, the use/store button sends power to a solenoid, or electro-magnetically operatred switch that connects the batteries to the rest of the trailer. When working correctly, it flip flops from connected to unconnected when one toggles the use/store button.

From the sound of it, it won't stay in the on position.

Sounds like your inverter and solar system are wired directly to the batteries, so they still work no matter the position of the solenoid.

I wanted to follow up with the solution to this issue in case anyone is researching the same problem. First I changed out the relay itself, (about $50 online), and that did not fix the issue. Then I changed out the Use/Store switch (another $45) that controls the relay, and that fixed the issue - all systems now working. Thanks to all who took time to reply! Best, Joe
